In 1983 Graham Beck bought the farm Madeba near Robertson. Pieter Ferreira, nicknamed "Bubbles", arrived as cellar master in 1990, and the first "Classic" appeared in 1993. Graham Beck makes Cap Classique and nothing else, from vines on limestone soils. The founder died on 27 July 2010.
