Twee Jonge Gezellen is one of 14 farms established in the valley after 1700 under Governor Willem Adriaan van der Stel. Wine was made here in the 20th century, and according to the estate, cold fermentation was invented on the farm in the 1950s. Today Krone bottles nothing but vintage Cap Classique. Getting there took a while: the 1969 earthquake set the sparkling wine plans back by 20 years, and the first Krone Borealis, from the 1987 vintage, was released in 1991.

Tastings are by reservation only. You choose between Discovery for R120 and Site Specific for R150 (as of September 2026), and there are tours of the cellar and the gallery. It is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00 and on public holidays from 10:00 to 14:00; on Sundays the tasting room stays closed "until 1 November", says the estate. The farm was renovated in 2017. Today it also hosts artist and chef residencies.
